TMJ Treatment

TMJ and facial pain is often times overlooked or misdiagnosed by many dental professionals because they simply do not have the training necessary to recognize and treat these patients adequately. Dental school does not prepare a dentist for these ailments. In fact, it is difficult to find post graduate continuing education in these fields for dentists. Dr Berry has committed two decades of his dental career to studying and treating patients with TMJ, Facial pain, joint discomfort and joint sounds, airway issues and sleep apnea. Many times these problems go hand-in-hand, therefore an in-depth knowledge of each of the areas is essential to ensure patients are diagnosed properly and treated with the best of care. Dr berry’s goal is to permanently eradicate your painful noisy joints and/or airway and sleep concerns, not put a band aid on the problem.

Dr Berry works with a number of other professionals to determine the most appropriate treatment plan for each patient. Many of these problems have multifactorial causes, so treatment of the root cause of your TMJ concern needs to be multifaceted.

LEARN MORE ABOUT TREATMENT OPTIONS

Headache & Facial Pain Treatment

Headaches and facial pain do not have to be something you deal with. Drugs and pain medicine usually only mask the underlying root cause of these symptoms. A thorough clinical consultation is essential to determining if your discomfort has an underlying medical or dentalcondition which can be treated. Dr Berry has over twenty years of advanced continuing education in headaches and facial pain, as well as clinical experience necessary to deliver this kind of specialized care to patients.

Sleep Apnea

Sleep apnea is the most serious form of sleep disordered breathing. If you have it, your breathing may stop hundreds of times a night, forcing your brain to awaken partly to restore breathing

Snoring Appliances

Snoring is a mild form of sleep disordered breathing, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t serious. First, it’s a serious nuisance that can lead to strife and even violence in your home.

FAQ

There is no recognized specialty within dentistry. Dr. Berry has hundreds of hours of continuing education specific to treatment of TMJ and head and neck pain. The board of dentistry maintains oversight of all licensed practitioners to ensure the safety of patients. Dr Berry has never had any board action or complaint in over 20 years, and in fact, he has hundreds of patients who’s lives have changed because of his treatment.

We work with many insurance companies, both medical and dental, to help our patients receive the maximum benefits they are entitled to from their insurance. It is important to know however that the treatment of TMJ is not always recognized by some insurance companies as either a medical or a dental condition, which can affect your “coverage” for treatment.
